Every atom and molecule is in a constant state of vibration and motion. It is constantly changing and shifting from the macro level right down to the micro. Even if we look within our own bodies nothing is ever still; the blood pumps through our veins, cells are constantly dividing. All of this happens without us needing to ‘think’ about it, or focus on anything, it just happens as part of the natural process of life.
We all know consciously that change is inevitable, but many times we find ourselves resisting it out of fear of the unknown, and comfort in staying where it’s safe, known, or secure, even if that is painful and not what we truly want. The problem is, if we resist the natural flow of life, eventually, just like a dammed river that needs and wants to flow, life will eventually shift things for us and invariably this is not always pleasant! I am sure we all have our own personal stories of pain and suffering because of our resistances to change. As a certified life coach and transpersonal counsellor, I see a lot of clients struggle with their resistance to change.
